What are YOU looking to learn? Justin teaches individual instruction for the flute and the fundamentals of conducting as well as one-on-one and group workshops for music theory and music history. He has taught students of all ages at elementary, middle, and high schools, in addition to collegiate-aged students for over 8 years. His experience has included instructing at schools, summer camps, and more.
Currently, all instruction will be through a live online-platform such as Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp, etc. (Post-pandemic, Justin will expect to serve the Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Simi Valley, Moorpark, Agoura Hills, Camarillo, and Calabasas areas. In addition, he will continue to work with students online who are beyond this locality or prefer online instruction!)
Searching for the right instructor can be a challenge. Uncertainty may arise in the student, the parents, or sometimes both. That’s okay! Justin offers the first flute lesson or conducting lesson for free. Parents or guardians are welcome to sit-in on the first lesson as well to provide a sense of comfort for all involved in the journey of learning.
Lessons are weekly and each one is 30-, 60-, or 90-minutes. To learn more about flute lessons and conducting lessons or Justin’s teaching philosophy, view the options under the dropdown menu Study with Justin or contact directly Justin here!
Justin, do you know what you told me in our first meeting? Apparently, people kept asking if you are a music education major!
Dr. L.S., Former Undergraduate Professor

Remember the story I told you about a 4th-grade trumpet player that switched to the flute after he heard you play at [the annual concert]? His mom is looking for lessons and I recommended you!
